This blog is dedicated to an annual pilgrimage to the frozen tundra of Callander Bay, Ontario and the rag tag group of Canadian primates who choose to partake in the on ice festivities.  The original trip started in 1999; the core group and our always gracious hosts Cara Lee and Garnet Hughes of South Shore Camping and Ice Condos have been rocking the ice ever since!

Don’t knock it until you try it!  Sleeping in  8 man heated cabins a kilometer out on the ice equipped with BBQs, Stoves, TVs and Heated Shitters can’t be beat.  Mix in a little ice bocce, a propane potato gun, some Scandanavian Army issued cross country skis  and a few “refreshments” (must stay hydrated) and it equals many of the best on land fishing camps around.
